Is it Safe for me and my dog? Yes!

Will the dogs be going for "pack" walks? No!

Be forced to sit while others walk past? No!

Wear tools that choke, stab or shock them???

HELL TO THE NO!!

Modern training doesn't use flooding to overwhelm the dog into giving up telling us how they feel. Instead it teaches the dog to feel differently about the things that trigger them! We know how hard it can be to find suitable locations to work with your dog's big feelings, plus finding others to assist is hard! Our sessions look nothing like some of the horrible group sessions run by outdated trainers, that are designed to look dramatic and push dogs towards supression with flooding.

The sessions will utilise the entire 25 acres as needed, so we have access to fenced yards, bushwalks, water and multiple large open spaces. Where you will be and the setup each time will be dictated by what you are working on, and the other dogs in the group.

Living with a reactive dog has always been challenging, but in recent years it has become harder to meet up with other educated owners to work through these issues. Many of us have become less likely to leave the house, less likely to make new connections, and overall more introverted. This makes it harder for our reactive dogs when we finally do have people over, or try to take them out into the world; it's a chicken and egg problem.

There was a flood of new dogs purchased during the pandemic, many of whom are now poorly trained and incorrectly socialised adding to this challenge. Not to mention the expanding abundance of poorly educated people giving out training and behaviour advice, and rubbish on social media. What does that mean for a reactive dog owner? More problem dogs with poorly educated owners out on the streets making it harder to get your dog out safely.

In order to combat these issues, we have set up Reactive Rehab! These casual drop-in sessions are only accessible to recent prior students, so you know everyone is educated and working on similar issues with their dog. The sessions are guided by your trainer Lisa who specialises in anxiety and aggression, however this is not a structured class and it is expected that students have a rough plan and goals they have developed in our classes or consults. Build new friendships and help your dog see the world in a new light!

Dog’s requirements for attending as we promote responsible ownership and safety:

* Dogs can be of any age (8 weeks to 18 years) but must not be suffering any cognitive issues

* Must be a recent student who has attended classes or consulting (in-person or live video) in the last 2 calendar years or this year.

* Dogs must be in an appropriate physical condition to participate, so can move around easily on their own at a walking pace.

* Dogs must have had their vaccinations or be titre tested

* Everyone will need to complete a set-up session with your professional trainer before starting the group sessions.  If you have not attended a group session for more than 3 months, you will need to do another set-up session as behaviour is constantly changing.

NOTE: Each session requires 3 dogs to run and has a maximum of 5 dogs. Sessions will be confirmed 24 hours prior while regular numbers are built up and session times adjusted to suit.
