Week 1 is a 2 hour Live Zoom presentation, to teach the human end of the leash. The following 6 classes with the dogs, are 1 hour each so 8 hours of classes. Double that of most courses! You can email your trainer during the course and you have lifetime support in our Polite Paws Family facebook group. All that along with the $50 doggy pack, detailed Homework notes and  graduation vouchers makes our classes great value for money! And once you have completed training with us, it gives you access to a tonne of special services offered only to prior students.

Obedience classes have traditionally been where people trained their dogs. But obedience is a dog sport that orginated in military training, and has nothing to do with teaching a pet dog to be well mannered & social. It is also traditionally taught using forceful outdated methods that are no fun for the dog or handler. Science tells us that is no way to build a relationship or modify behaviour, so why continue to train this way? Plus why not let your very smart dog drive the training and burn some mental energy, instead of being bossed around like a robot?

We focus on teaching your dog how to be calm, attentive and well mannered without tools designed to hurt. No-one wants to force your dogs to sit, drop, come & stay, while they bark and pull on a prong collar, check chain or slip lead causing stress which inhibits learning. Then they drag you home, barge through the front door, jump on everyone and eat your lunch off the kitchen bench while you take your shoes off. And then they run off with your shoes too! We use modern science based methods which don't involve force, fear, pain or intimidation.
