Most training and behaviour problems are best addressed in the home, where the dog spends most of it’s time and is most comfortable. We start here before trying to take them into a new environment, to develop the skills first and set them up for success. We don't need to see the problem happen to resolve it, so are alwasy looking for ways to keep the dog comfortable and safe so we don’t. As opposed to group classes where we follow a set lesson plan, private sessions are tailored to suit your dog and your family. This customised training is often critical when working with behaviour issues as one size doesn't fit all. It is also critical when there are family considerations that impact on training. As our lives get busier, it is often easier to book consults to fit around your life. They are booked as we go, so you can fit them around family commitments.

Usually a couple of basic problems can be improved in 2-3 sessions. A more complex issue like aggression or anxiety, or covering multiple areas we will take at least 4 sessions. One session every 2-4 weeks allows you to spend time in between working on the things laid out in the session. Training at your local park or on the street can be a progression from the first session at home. The initial 2 hour session will always be at your home, as we need to address management & foundation behaviours there first. Each session after the initial 2 hour session is 1 hour long, with email support in-between. You will also have access to our Polite Paws Family facebook group, where you receive lifetime support in a caring & educating environment. And we provide a range of services to current and past students that you will gain access to.

Your sessions will be with Lisa who is a well respected behaviour consultant and founder of Polite Paws over 15 years ago. We currently are based in Sydney’s North West Hawkesbury district where we can do in-person consults if suitable. But due to the benefits of Live online and the high demand for our expertise, we do a lot of Live video consulting. This is especially critical as a lot of our students are in the inner west, and most of those students refuse to seek ongoing support from anyone else. They understand the importance of finding good education. Simply enrol online and your behaviour consultant will be in touch to organise your first session. We will answer all of your questions and ask some important ones you haven’t even thought of! Don’t spend hours going through internet forums, enrol today to hear from an expert!

Why we may suggest you do Video consults instead of In-person consults with a behaviour expert...

* Your dog is anxious about strangers coming into the home

* Your dog is reactive to new people on the street

* Your dog is aggressive to people or has a bite history

* You would rather the most suitable expert rather than only who is local
